An overview with pricing

Rates for professional genealogy research can typically range from $40 per hour to $150, with many firms charging $100 to $130 per hour or more. We are proud to offer research rates better than other companies, while providing superior service and results.

To provide maximum value for our clients, our rates depend on the type and amount of work you need done. A simple record lookup will be cheaper than deep, in-depth analysis with travel and interdisciplinary consultations. Our fees range from $70 to $89 per hour.

What to expect when working with a professional genealogist.

We can perform nearly any genealogy-related service for our clients, and we look forward to working with you to meet your needs. Over the years, we have seen similar needs come up time and again, and have detailed some of the typical client requests below. Regardless of the type of service, all of our research will be expertly conducted at your direction and fully sourced with only the most reputable records, with a focus on primary, original documents of unquestioned integrity. Our research projects are usually completed between three to six weeks after payment. If circumstances are such that the case will take longer, you will be notified as soon as possible. We make every effort to complete your research as quickly as possible. Research may take longer when records from different archives need to be ordered.

    Five hours is our minimum research time. This is the typical time it takes to research the available records for your genealogy case. So if you have a small project start here.

    You will know everything searched and the analysis done during your research project. Your report will detail goals, sources, strategies, reasoning, findings, conclusions, and ancillary information.

  • Summary of research

    Before diving into the full report, you will be able to review the highlights of the research in a concise one page summary.

  • Copies of documents printed and digital

    Each report is mailed with the printed report and documents, along with a cd with the documents.

  • $445 ($89 an hour)

Bronze Genealogy Package

Our bronze genealogy package is specially designed for those just starting with their genealogy. It is appropriate for those who are seeking ancestors between 1850 and 1930. These projects usually research just one person or one question.

Silver Genealogy Package

Our Silver Genealogy Package is designed for people who want to work on more difficult research cases and cases involving more than one person. This standard genealogy project is well suited for most people with research in the United States and people whose ancestors are established in their country of origin.

    Many companies start with 20 hours as the minimum. We want you to be in charge of your research with frequent updates.

  • Summary of research

    Before diving into the full report, you will be able to review the highlights of the research in a concise one page summary.

  • Update of research after ten hours

    We will contact you at ten hours and give you a summary of the research so far.

  • Update your family tree online

    We can update your family tree on Ancestry.com or FamilySearch.org.

  • $1580 ($79 an hour)

Gold Research Package

Our Gold Genealogy Package is designed for complex and longer genealogy projects. These projects include research involving several families, immigration research, adoption research, and colonial research. Midway through the Gold Genealogy Project, you will receive an update from one of our professional genealogists. This is a perfect place to start with your more difficult and longer cases!

Ancestor Book

Our ancestor book is the middle ground between a research project and a typical family history book. Many family history books cost between $6,000 and $10,000 to write, but our ancestor book starts at $2,000. This option grabs the key details and documents from your ancestors lives and compiles that information in a book to share, while keeping the project within your budget.

  • Thirty hours of research and writing.

    Our minimum for this project is 30 hours

  • Spiral bound book with ancestor pages.

    You will know everything searched and the analysis done during your research project. Your report will detail goals, sources, strategies, reasoning, findings, conclusions, and ancillary information.

  • Copies of documents bound in book.

    Each ancestor page is followed by key documents from your ancestor’s life.

  • Two copies of book

    Each project includes two copies of the book, plus shipping costs.

  • Starts at $2100 ($70 an hour)
